An island getaway based on harmony and rejuvenation
Some talk about the journey, but in the case of Mambo, it’s all about arriving at your destination. Located in the hills of one of Indonesia’s most unspoiled islands, the boutique hotel embraces a design philosophy rooted in openness, material authenticity and a close relationship with nature.
The architecture dissolves the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, with the softly curving villas designed to let light, air and landscape to flow freely throughout the project. The bathroom design follows the same principles: clean lines, natural textures and a restrained aesthetic that prioritises harmony over statement.

Designing a bathroom as an extension of nature
Mambo’s villas are designed to maximise views and the guest’s connection with the island’s lush landscape. Materials such as bamboo, stone, and carved Indonesian wood are enhanced by soft, neutral finishes and organic forms. References to water are always present, whether the wave-like bamboo ceiling, the rounded exterior pool or the individual bathrooms that naturally extend between the rooms and the private exterior spaces.
Roca meets the mark with sustainable bathroom solutions
White-washed walls are complemented by green plants and matt black faucets, including the Cala built in bath-shower faucet and the Ona built-in basin faucet, both of which add depth and texture to the space. Round shapes that reflect nature are repeated in pieces such as the circular PL10 flush plates, and the softly curving form of the Ona wall-hung toilet.
The open plan shower creates the feeling of being outside under softly falling rain but from the privacy of your own villa. The Rainsense round shower head brings a steady flow for total relaxation. The result is a seamless dialogue between space, water and landscape—where every element contributes to a unified, immersive experience.
